To the Web Site of PRONATUR, an association that does not have the purpose to obtain profit and dedicates to the study of the Urban and Rural Naturation. 

PRESENTATION

PRONATUR is the Spanish Society of Urban and Rural Naturation (Sociedad Española de Promoción de la Naturación Urbana y Rural).

It has been founded without profit purpose, with the goal of co-ordinating and to move the technical, scientific, and entrepreneurial efforts orientated towards an improvement of the urban and rural environment.

The concept of naturation implicates the urban and rural life in an environment where nature recovers the leading role through vegetal species that improve the living conditions in a sustainable way.

PRONATUR pretends to promote nature in our daily life. Significant exponents are the recuperation of the autochthonous flora and fauna in an acceptable and coherent way. For that purpose we search the feasibility of the maintenance that would lead us to a sustainable naturation.

The urban naturation can be focussed as a technical constructive treatment with vegetation that fits to the environmental conditions on the roofs (horizontal and vertical) and walls of the buildings. This urban naturation tries to transform into biotypes the urban buildings and spaces so that they, joint through green corridors, facilitate the circulation of the atmosphere and improve the microclimate of the city.

The urban naturation contemplate a broad scenario of possibilities such as:

  • · The naturation of buildings.
  • · Actions in streets and open spaces in the town.
  • · The naturation of streets, railways and traffic in general.
  • · The naturation of periurban areas.

As a complement the rural naturation is seen as conservation of natural resources and environmental protection.
